I ALSO POSTED THIS IN THE SUN SOLARIS FORUM BUT ON REVISIT< THIS FORUM MIGHT BE BETTER.

How do I find out when a userid was created? Can a do a "ls-c" or is there another command that would be appropriate.
Bascially, I want to compare when a user account was created to the last time it was accessed. What I would like to do, in the future with upgrade is not install or copy userids that have not been used for say 6 months.

I hope this makes sense if not ask me questions and hopefully I can make it more clear! ;)

What you asked and what you need are slightly different. I don't know of a good way to determine when a user ID was created, but I know a great way to list active users in date order (most active first, least active last):

# cd /usr
# ls -lt */.lastlogin

This is for SCO, and might only work for users with /bin/sh as their shell. I get headaches when I sit in front of a SUN system, so I try to avoid them.
