I didn't create the original files so the above is my best guess about what is happening. The original file(s) were created in either Illustrator CS2 or CS3 on a Mac.
I have three files creating a multi-fold brochure. Two of the files are AI and are for the inside and outside of the brochure. Behind the text in both the AI files is a background that I cannot edit. In the same folder there is a PSD file which looks like the background of one of the AI files.
I need to change part of these backgrounds but I cannot edit the backgrounds in AI. I've tried editing the PSD file in Photoshop and saving it to the folder, but it made no difference. I've checked the layers and only found one layer. I've checked for a template and there isn't one.
I have limited experience with AI - I've worked more with Corel Draw and Photoshop in the past - so I'm probably missing something quite simple.
How do I edit the backgrounds?
I am currently using a trial version of Illustrator CS4 on Windows XP while I'm waiting for delivery of a creative suite upgrade.
Many thanks,
