I am looking for a way to listen to audio feeds by dialing a directory number. Audio will play continuously. System is an option 61C. Customer wants to be able to dial one of 4 DN's and listen to different feeds from internal and external numbers. Similar to an announcement connection except the feed is fluid and not repetitive

Whether this is simple or complex also depends on how many people have to listen to the live feed.

If you needed a super simple method for one person at a time to hear the feed, you take the audio and Radio Shack connect it to a handset of a digital phone. Set the digital phone to Auto Answer - now dial that phone, it auto-answers, and you hear what is being fed into the handset.

For specific people to hear the audio feed, you could do the same thing to an analog trunk port, then give people PVR appearances of the trunk port - whomever presses that PVR line hears the phone.

If people have to be able to dial this from any internal phone on demand, then it would be a RAN trunk, where the audio was the live feed. Now you are limited to how many RAN channels you have.

Just a few ideas to resurrect this post
