need to deploy enterprise 8.0i to entire segment

I need to deploy VSE 8.0i to a segment of servers using GFI Languard or SMS. I am unable to find any installation guides on the McAfee site on what switches are needed for a silent install or if I can make a transform file to configure them all to use our local DAT repository for updates. If anyone has done this and can let me know where I can find a guide I would greatly appreciate it.

I' m pretty sure that the installation designer comes with Enterprise 8.0i.
If it doesn't, then get it, because that's what you need!
It'll allow you to customise the installation, whether it be changing the repository list, including patches, changing settings, make install silent etc

I used the Installation Designer to customize the VSE8 settings. I haven't used it for a year, but I vaguely remember either a checkbox or switch that you enter to specify that you what the install to run silently and performs a reboot at the end.

When you finish building the customized VSE8 package that runs silently and automatically performs a reboot, you can then use SMS to deploy the package. I've used SMS to deploy my silent package successfully. Even though my custom VSE package is set to automatically reboot the PC at the end of the install, I've seen it fail to reboot the PC when it is deployed via SMS. (Running it manually has no problem)

To get around it, I specify that SMS will restart the PC after the install. With SMS, I also got it to chain the VSE patches and scan engine 5100 without any issues. I think Patch 13 and Scan Engine 5100 can also be integrated within the new Installation Designer so that may not be an issue for you, but again, I haven't used it in about a year.
