Need to create button from flat image 1

Using CS3, not super proficient but not a total newb.

I have a series of round images that are used to print stickers. I'd like to take these images and make them look like pinback buttons - round back the edge all the way around (away from the viewer), and give it a little depth.

Any advice on how to accomplish this would be most appreciated.

Here's a clever tutorial that creates the button I believe you're looking for.

Since it kinda works in reverse (create the button then add the picture) you might want to scroll down to steps 8 and 9 to see if this is actually what you want.
