Hello- I am at my wit's end, I don't know who to turn to. I am trying to create a button on the switchboard that will promt another form that will give a series of questions so users can search for their information. For example, I would like users to use a drop down list, choose, and click a button that filters out all but the choice from the drop down list. I would like to do this using the Access features, not by programming. But if programming is the only way, okay. This is only the beginning of my little troubles. Can anyone recommend a book that would be helpful to a beginning Access user - but who isn't a programmer. Currently I am using "The Access Bible" and it isn't great. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Secondly, I am using "Running Microsoft Access2000" by John Viescas from Microsoft Press. It comes with a cd with lots of sample databases that are referred to throughout the book. About 1,000 pages, good index, good reference. I also print out the "help" pages when I think I'll need them. Microsoft.com has frequent questions, etc. It seems to me that when I go back to the book after some trial and error, I understand it better.

Firstly, the form from the switchboard: one procedure is to create an unbound popup form with the choices and arguments you want (buttons, checkmarks, etc.) and put the name of the form in the table "Swithboard Items" (see the Northwind Sample database that ships with Access). Look for this in "help"...if you want more direction let me know. Good luck!
