Hi

I'm in a small office where we run 1 Notes 4.6.6 server on an NT 4.0 machine. A while back we had someone trying to set up the Domino fax product & in trying to do this they installed R5 on a second machine.
To cut a long story short we no longer have the R5 machine just the 4.6.6, but the template on the Names.nsf has been changed to the R5 template.
How do I change it back? Which template do I need to use & where do I find it?

thanks in advance

Tony

Tony,

The first question is; Why do you want to change it back? I guess your server must be still working. So, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
You should also be aware that R5 Public Address Books are compatible with R4. Lotus made sure of this so that upgrades can be performed over WANS.

However I guess you have your reasons. So you can try this.

I've never tried to reverse a version of names.nsf (the most important database in the notes world). But I have reversed the version of mail files and it worked fine.

On your server you need to right click the Public Address Book. Then click on Database and then select Replace design. Then select the Public Address Book template (pubnames.ntf). Then click on replace. I'm guessing your server is still running 4.6.6 and that the pubnames.ntf is the 4.6.6 version.

Before you do any of this make sure that you have a full backup of your server. And make sure that you can actually restore this backup!

regards,

Mizzy.
P.S.
Have you ever heard of Zetafax, its quite compatible with Lotus Notes as a faxing service.
