Need to change Named Range Names

I just upgraded from Excel 2003 to 2007. When I opened a spreadsheet that has hundreds of named ranges, Excel changed all of the range names. All of the Named Ranges now have an underline preceding the original name. Example "ww123" was changed to "_ww123".

Is there some way to loop through the entire workbook and change the names back? I do not want to go through and do each manually.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Check out the Names collection.

I doubt that you will be able to restore old names. Excel 2007' worksheet is bigger, so it changed some names to avoid conflict with available addresses.

Good catch combo. ww123 is a cell reference in 2007!

AFAIK, if you keep the workbook in the old (97-2003) format, that forces Excel 2007 to work in compatability mode and the range names will remain unchanged.
