I have a database which, among other things, will be an archive of print pages. I've worked out a process by which the pages can be scanned, saved as a JPG so they can be viewed, while OCR software processes the scan to create a text file. I am experimenting - successfully so far - with memo fields to hold the text and already have a form which allows the user to type words, partial words or phrases in a text box and click a button to get pages with matching text. Meanwhile, for space purposes and because this DB will not need to be used outside of this location, I decided to keep the JPGs in a network location with only their path and filename in the database and already did a form which displays the selected page. I even made the "click to view page" button enabled only when there's a file path assigned to the page.
The problem is, I need a proper way of getting the file name, with path, into the proper field in the table. I can manually type it in while I test and develop, but obviously need an interface to allow the intended users to browse, select the file, and assign the file name to the field. How do I do that?
