Need to add two external IP's

Hi,

I am having trouble when trying to add an external IP.

Say I have NIC1 ed0 to 10.10.10.1 netmask 255.255.255.248

I want to add NIC2 ed1 t0 10.10.10.2 netmask 255.255.255.248

I get ifconfig: ioctl (SIOCAIFADDR): File exists

I think because they are on the same network, don't mind the IP's I specified they are example.

Is there a way to have one box with multiple NIC's but have the nic connect to different IP's on the same network?? And how would you do this?
