I would like to enable caller ID on my DTI loop (Opt 11). I do not have or want PRI. I assume the CLID will be inband. I am not sure where to start and do not want to order it first and cause an incoming translation problem with the switch...forgot to mention this would be on DID trunks with 4 digit feed.

Any tips/tricks would be appreciated.

Thx,

You can't get CallerID on T1. You might be able to get ANI on T1, but they're not the same thing. You'd get *ANI*DNIS* in most cases, using the DNIS digits as your DID. I think there are other potential problems within the switch. Your biggest problem will be that most carriers do not offer that as a service option. There are previous postings on this... I'll see if I can search and post a thread reference.

I just searched in my forums and couldn't find the post I'm remembering. If your LEC offers it, I think it will work. You may need to examine your tone detectors as you'll be going from 4 digits received to 13 digits received, and may run into a resource contention problem. Hopefully someone who has done it will be able to post a better followup.

hi,

You can have clid on the DTI. All you need is R2mfc signaling. You need to order the same to service provider.

Points to note:-

This is very old signaling and very slow also. Be ready the call will take 5-10 secs to complete.

Do check whether your option switch supports the R2mf signaling.

Hope it helps

Cheers
