I have an old version of SBT (Visionpoint 10.0 from late 1999) running on a Windows '95 box. I just got a new computer with XP Pro on it. What do I need to do to transfer *all* of the data to the new computer? Is there a more current version of the software to which I must upgrade or can I use that version on XP? Where is the data stored (what's the default path)? Is there one specific folder that if I copy it to the new computer - all of my data will be intact? Any pointers on how to do this? Any websites that assist in such a transfer?

This is years' of crucial data for my business - so a successful transfer is critical.

Thanks so much!

1. I don't remember the default path, but assuming this is all a stand alone install, you should first install the cd on your new computer. Write down the default data path. Now, copy over the same default data path (assuming it matches) from the old machine on top of your new directory.

DO NOT MOVE THE DIRECTORY, ONLY COPY IT! The reason being its logical to conclude that you don't know where the data is at, that you are likely to not have a backup. To be extra save, you might even create a folder called safe on the c drive of your old computer, and copy your sbt folder(s) there.

Please always take the time to backup any and all data before performing any actions suggested for ANY problem, regardless of how minor a change it might seem. Also test the backup to make sure it is intact.
