Just had a T-1 Circuit installed and the distant will soon want a loop to test. What pins should I loop to where?

Uhh... I dont think that links picture is correct. That diagram shows 1-5 nad 2-4

Loopback is pin 1 to 4 and pin 2 to pin 5 (1-4 and 2-5)

Uhh. perhaps I am confused. /Can someone clarify.
Is the loopback for a circuit from the provider different than what would be used for testing hardware

i.e. is this correct:?
1-5 , 2-4 at smart jack towards CO
1-4 , 2-5 at csu or router looking in
??

The polarity doesn't really matter, as long as the pair of 1&2 gets connected to the pair of 4&5.

Really? I had no idea that the polarity did not matter, I had always been doing it the other (1-4 and 2-5) way, so I thought the diagram link was wrong. Then I started searching the internet and found both ways and thought I was going crazy. Thanks for the clarification.

The jacks that verizon uses here provide Loop Back when there is no cable attached to it.

Polarity doesn't matter. An easy trick is to take any standard jack (568A or 568B) and loop a peice of cross connect wire between all of the tips and all of the rings. With all tips tied together and all rings tied together, you have your loopback jack and don't even need a schematic. Good for throwing a quick LBJ together when you're out in the feild.

If you're still stuck (and in the US)
I can send one to you *for shipping cost

Thanks to all. When I made a loopback connector as described at the link from cisco provided by WIRES the circuit tested fine.

Thanks for the offer BitFuzzy...

What about a PC internal modem loopback plug? With just one pair utilized, how would one make this?

Thanks!
