Hi there,

We are starting a courier company in Toronto. We got the space to start our business in the coming year. I’m here to get a suggestion on whether we can choose the business internet plan or normal plans for the internet connection. I contacted the previous company that occupied the space to know the internet connection they used. They were using www.thinktel.ca broadband business plan to run their business and the optical fiber cable is still available to our server room. Should I contact thinktel to get the internet or should I find another isp provider?

I discussed this with my business partner and he is planning to contact another isp as one of his friends using unlimited business internet plan. Please suggest the best choice.

Thanks

As a PM and former dept mgr, I think you should submit a RFP, Request for Proposal, to several vendors. The RFP would state your requirements (bandwidth, outage tolerances, growth plans, and equipment you already own (routers, firewalls, etc)) and ask vendors to bid on the RFP, making any assumptions that they feel necessary, but stating those assumptions on the RFP response. Then, one usually picks the better RFP response based on cost, support, vendor reputation, etc.
