Im not sure if this question should go here or hardware but here goes.

Recent my puter has started taking a noticeable amount of time between opening and closing applications, listening to music, checking email etc etc. I have scan disk and defrag with in the last month or so. I have current definitions for my virus software and ran the system about two weeks ago and was clean. What should I do or check now??? Could the hard drive be starting to go???

OS XP Thanks R.

Some freeware or free trial programs you can play with to see if they help.

Any use of any Registry cleaner is always risky and requires careful use and plenty of backups just incase.
