Using a manufacture's app for getting users to run off the LDAP, instead of their product. In AD, I have the following set up.

intranet.wmheart.com ( site )
-WMHeart ( OU )
-WMH-Bradford ( OU )
-firsttel ( admin user )
-WMH-Security Groups ( OU )
-Enterprise Conferencing ( group w/ users in it )

Now unfortunately all the manufacturer of the product uses is a wizard, so I can't really see code at all... just my query strings.

My Search Base is: CN=Enterprise Conferencing,OU=WMH-Security Groups,OU=WMHeart,DC=intranet,DC=wmheart,DC=com

My Admin ID is: CN=firsttel,OU=WMH-Bradford,OU=WMHeart,DC=intranet,DC=wmheart,DC=com

UID: sAMAccountName

See anything wrong with that? AFAIK that *should* get some sort of result...

Well - unfortunately you don't have much to go on. My only suggestion would be to:

a) try binding with the userPricipalName of the user (something like firsttel@intranet.wmheart.com or firsttel@wmheart.com)

b) upping the search base to the ou=WMHeart level (but only if the wizard or configuration tool has a box for subtree searches

c) try <sigh> upping the permission of the user used to do the query to a domain admin
