My company, Intensefrank New Media, has been getting more and more contracts for security-related issues from clients. I want my staff and myself to be as knowledgable as possible in this area. I am considering a CISSP certification. Can anyone tell me if this is a wothwhile pursuit, or is there something betteer out there?
Any advice would be appreciated.

a CISSP certification is very broad in scope and is designed mostly for folks who are going to be setting security policies for companies.
If you are looking to provide security consulting at a technical level than you are best served by obtaining certifications such as the ones from the SANS institute (GSEC, GCIH, GCFW, etc). Even ISC2 SSCP can help here
If you are looking to perform security audits than you should look into certs like CISM, CISA etc.
Besides security certs, it is important that your staff is already strong in Operating Systems, Networks, Applications etc
Hope this helps.

That was quite a helpful reply, actually. The highly specialized nature of these certs actually helps in the delegation of project management, lead tech roles, etc.

Thanks again!
