I'm a rooky in this area. I host a non-Front Page generated Web Site on a NT 4.0 Server w/ IIS. I believe the FP extensions are present. I see sites offering free counters, but am hoping that having IIS will provide all I need internally without going elsewhere. Do I just add the right HTML in the right place on my homepage? Do I need to adjust the configuration on the server? Where do the number GIFS come from?
Sorry for my "rookiness". Any help in basic explanations is greatly appreciated!! X-)

Are you connected to a database? A very simple solution is to write some vbscript/asp code that pulls a number from the database (or a local text file if no database is present) and increases it (as well as store information such as IP address, date, time, etc.. if you wish) every time the page is accessed.

As far as IIS having something built in to moniter the number of hits per pageand create reports from it - I am not sure.

Number Gifs are more complicated, the script parses the number and assigns a gif picture to each digit and then writes out the HTML to show the images. To see some good scripts of any style and type, head to
