I need to manage the power button function for a large number of systems onour network. They are all XP Pro so GPO is out the window (wish i was on Vista)

What I need is a VBscript, batch file, whatever that I can use to change the default action of the power button on a number of machines. I want them all to "ask me what to do" when the power button is pressed. These devices are all tablets running WinXP Pro SP2 with the tablet plugins.

Deploying such a script is no problem at all, it's the creation of such a script that I cant get through on my own.

Any help or suggestions will be greatly apprciated.

EZ GPO

"EZ GPO is a free tool for network administrators who run Windows Active Directory and manage client workstations using Group Policy Objects (GPOs). EZ GPO provides Group Policy Objects for centrally configuring power management settings, as they are not native in Windows 2000 or XP. However, power management can be managed through Group Policy on Windows Vista machines. (For this reason, the EZ GPO tool does not work on Vista PCs.)"

There is some other ideas on this thread but you have to Register (or use a free one week trial) to see them.
