Need Script Please

We recently installed a new Blue Coat proxy (mandated by management). The proxy has some known issues with programs some users need. We got permission to put our squid proxy back online for just those users. A GPO being pushed down from above my level sets the proxy settings upon login.

Is there a script I can use to change the proxy settings once users are logged in?

Can you not import the old proxy setting into the registry after the login? or is it a permission issue which stops you doing so?

There is a group policy setting which controls the IE Proxy server.

My only misgiving is does only work on XP W2K3.

The setting is Under the
User Config
Windows Settings
Ie
Browser User interface.

This is a GPO being pushed from above and I'm looking for a way around it, because higher ups are not willing to modify the GPO.
