Need same Ext # at two locations

Site 1: Opt 81c, Site 2: Opt 11c. Connected by T-1 line used for PRI. Calls route through 81c. At site 1, I have a phone with ext # 6823, I need a phone at site 2 with ext # 6823. Person has an office at both locations and works alternately at both offices (no set schedule) and wants calls to ring at both offices and if not answered, go to Callpilot voicemail at site 1. Numbering plan and routing at Site 1. How can I do this?

not going to happen, you can call forward between sites but you can't have the same dn on both switches and still dial them across the tie

I would use a call forward to get around this or set the phone in one office to hunt/fdn to the other.

If your vmail is networked add the other extn in to his mail box

so site 1 -----> site 2 -----> vmail



It's not getting any smarter out there. You have to come to terms with stupidity, and make it work for you.

you can make this work with Layer 2 connectivity between sites and IP phones

correct, but not in two seperate switches,,,if my dn is 1234, i can't add a dsc.tsc.lsc in my cdp and still send it to a tie.. with voip it can work

i would use rcfw and allow the user to forward a soft set to either site, then fna and hunt the target to a single mb with the soft dn as a member

no 2 swicthes over a PRI wont work.

DN can only be routed to one switch or the other. Unless maybe you blow out the TN/DN at switch/site 1 every time user goes to switch/site 2, and re-rote the DID calls over the TIE. But that will suck, blowing out a phone every time the person travels between sites.

The ip phone setup is better, DN could co-exist and ring simultaneously at each site. IP is a beautiful thing sometimes, especially for redundancy

Allows call simultaneous ringing of M1 set and other devices (could be other set at other site or cell phone etc.)

I would use PCA (Personal Call Assitant) on both sites. It works as follows:

Configure at each site your Extension Number (ex: 3000)then cpnfigure on each site a PCA with 3000 that will ring then via your route access code + extension at both sites.

PCA is a new feture that is available in release 4.
