Does anyone make or recommend a rugged VoIP phone set that can be used in a factory floor or outdoors?

What is the application? You can use a regular IP set but mount it in a weather proof box.

In the future everything will work...

Putting the phone in an enclosure will not work. THe operators need access to it quickly and frequently. If we install it in a box it will just stay open anyway. We have rugged analog phones in these locations now, but I would prefer to replace them with VoIP units if there is a similarly rugged unit available.

I think there is a IP wireless phone (3626??) that has an industrial/rugged version.

Not sure if that helps you though.

How about an analog to IP converter?

Check Click the analog adapters.

Using those you can adapt any phone you like. Even the ruggedized phones you now use.

Of course the downside to any adapter is the need for local power, but you do get to keep the investment in phones that you now have.

Carpe dialem! (Seize the line!)
