I plan to install HP Openview for Windows NT to run 3Com Transcend network management software. I would like any and all recomendations regarding the configuration of the workstation hardware to support this platform. Such as Pentium II, XENON , dual
processor, memory, video, SCSI vs DMA/33 etc. In other words how much horsepower am I going to need to utilize this platform properly. TIA, Terryb.
Terry I am using all Dell and Intergraph PII 350 and 450 with 128mb ram and your hard drive space should be according to what you will be using it for.

I don't know your budget, but a dual-processing server is not a bad idea. Get as much RAM as you can afford. Digitalman is spot on about disk space & processor (go for the PII). If you log a lot...then you'll need more space. It's really a function of network size and logging.

Digitalman Your info you gave me was right on the Money... Thanks Again

Digitalman - appreciate the feedback. I'm off for some training on
the 3Com Trancend product next week and hope to be up and running shortly after that. Thanks, terryb
