I have three pagemaker files (*.p65) that I cannot view since I don't have publisher. I've ready they can be exported as pdf. Is there any kind soul here willing to open these three files, convert to pdf, and send to me?

If so I would GREAAAAAAATLY appreciate it!!!

Dan

What you need to do is download the tryout of PageMaker or InDesign.

With the Tryout, you will be able to edit the files if you need to.

I say this because, if your files are PDF ready as you say, you will have all the fonts and images available. You will need to email the fonts and images as well as the PM file to another user, and if you do not have PM, you will not know what they are.

InDesign is more reliable at creating PDFs than PM, and will convert the PM file reliably. However the PM download is much smaller.

PM7 Tryout: (65Mb)
InDesign Tryout: (229Mb)

I attempted to download both pagemaker and indesignand but was unable to. There is no "download" button on the adobe page...and the download does not start automatically. I've tried in IE and in firefox.

Thus my post.

It looks like is suffering some problems this weekend.

If it's still out of action on Monday, I'll report it.

John,

I don't think you're understanding my problem. When I go to adobe's site, register, sign in, and attempt to download the trial versions I can't. I see your screen show and the download button...when I visit the site, for some very odd reason I see no download button. I don't know how to upload an image to my post, so I put a screen shot here...

If you have pagemaker, would you be willing convert the files to some other format for me?

As I said, the site was playing up earlier, but it's fine now.

What happens if you move your cursor over the place where the button should be? Does it change to the "link select" pointer?

Unless you have all the fonts and associated images, you can state categorically that the creator has not used Paste Special/Insert Object, and the files can be downloaded using FTP, we're on a non-starter.
