I am a retired programmer who is missing the ability to do my own database and report management. In the past I used dBASE 3+ for 6 years, Clipper for 5 years, 5 years of Oracle with forms, reports and graphics and tons of backdoor data conversion routines, a little Access (yuk), LOTUS Approach. I really only need a little tool at home like dBASE3+ but I don't know where to get a copy of it anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions for where to find dBASE 3+ or another programming tool for small programming tasks with a front end menu that works with XP? I would like to be able to import our travel information into a database of some kind and set up my own entry menu.

Thanks, kitty

as you well know, dB3+ is no longer sold. The latest version is db2k at for a price, which may not suit your retirement plans.

Suggestion(s):

1) you can try an auction site such as . You may find someone 'cleaning out their cellar'.

2) you can also try free-/share- ware versions from other sites such as . You may have to try several 'generic' DBMs and see if any take your fancy.

3) go through any backup disks you have.

4) or contact an old colleague that may have one available for you.

Good luck in your endeavors.
