We have 4 retail stores selling cellular phones, service, and accessories. We need a new POS program. We currently use Microsoft POS and hate how cumbersome and non-intuitive it is.
We have 4 locations that must be networked in real time. Currently have 15 employees. This needs to be expandable as we intend to grow. We use Quickbooks Premier Retail Edition 2006 for our accounting so need something that will integrate well (our book keeper HATES how Microsoft POS works with quickbooks)
Some things we are looking for:
1.) Employee management tools (timeclock, security, production)
2.) Excellent Inventory/PO managment. We utilize centralized ordering. We need a daily report generated by store to tell our operations manager what to order. Currently we have to accept PO's print out the PO and PO receipt and staple it to the packing slip then get it to our book keeper so he knows it is ok to pay...we'd like to make this process electronic if possible
3.) Customized Customer management tools. We want to produce mailers on a time schedule (7 days, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years), be able to easliy track and notate everything we do for our customers, search for customers using several different filters.
4.) easy reporting. I need to be able to customize reporting without having an advanced degree in chrystal reports.
I am sure there is more, but that is all that comes to mind at the moment.

Appreciate any suggestions on where to start looking!

There are some pos packages made for cell phone stores.
Managemore is one. A customer used it mainly for his pagers becasue it would dialout and activate them with the main switch.
Going to a trade show in you area might reveal some more.
