I have a option 81C that is running OTM. The problem is that you can make changes at the client pc but then you have to go to the server and send the information through. I already know that they routing is turned off on the server side. My question is on building the route in the switch (LD 117) the NTP says to build the route with IP address and gateway. The gateway of otm server? Thanks for any help.

Can you ping the switch from the CLient PC? If you cannot, then you will have to add a route entry in the local router on the data network. Contact you IT/MIS department for that. If the Client PC in on the ELAN, then you have an installation problem on the Client software. Most of the time the Client PC is located on the CLAN(customer lan). You can access the OTM server because it probably has two NIC cards (One ELAN One Clan). Sounds like that is you case because you can upload from the server. Check first to see if you can do the ping. Load 117 is used for the ELAN IP addressing only and does not have anything to do with the CLAN

If you look at you group privilages you should be able to alow yourself to scheduale these updates from the client. You can ether set an automatic updates for a certain time of day or you have to send the update each time you chg anything

Thanks for the help. I can ping the switch from the client. The routing and remote access is not turned on at the server. Will this cause any virus to be sent back to the switch?
