My client has WordPerfect 7.0 running on a SCO box and wants to switch to Linux. He needs a word processor that is easy to use,(that knocks out vi and ed) and that will run on a dumb terminal (not kde or gnome) under linux. Corel no longer makes a non gui W/P. Any ideas?

I have been using pico from the command line for some time in linux. If I'm not mistaken, I have also used it on my SCO box. It is not robust like a commercial word processing package, rather it is more like dos edit. However it does quite well for editing scripts and creating documents. Hope this helps. All flavors all the time. Might have been there, haven't done it...yet.
