We are installing a NAM for a customer, who bought it used. We would like to connect the NAM to his network. I can talk to the NAM using my laptop and Norstar Voice Mail manager 4.0. I understand we need to run a utility called NAM IP Lite in order to change the IP address of the NAM. The NAM does not have a keyboard, mouse or monitor connector in place.

Does anyone know where to find this software? Can anyone zip me a copy of this?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

I have been to pbxinfo.com and have downloaded the NAMIP EZ config file. I will try it at site on Friday, if it doesn't work then I will email you (Brian), for the zipped file.

Thanks for the help.

Dave

I tried the NAMIP EZ config program, but it did not work. At the end of the program,
the tones went up , but the vmail seemed to lock up repeating the tones , and the only
way to stop the tones, was to pull the floppy disk out. When I rebooted the NAM, it
came up ok, but I could not talk to it, using NVM and a crossover cable (I did change
my ip address of my laptop). So I figure that the IP table is corrupted in the NAM.

Should I try to use NAM IP lite? Or should I go to all the trouble of getting a monitor
and keyboard hooked up, and visually confirm the IP settings?

Your advice?

Thanks,

Dave

What IP did you change the NAM to and what is your laptop's IP?

I tried to change the NAM to 192.168.0.98 and changed my laptop to 192.168.0.99. I also tried to change the NAM to 192.168.0.185 and my laptop to 192.168.0.186.

I'm not sure about that NAMIP EZ Config program, but with NAMIP LITE you can pull out the IP address of the NAM. Now I'm assuming the IP address of the NAM is still at default, can you you connect to it using the default IP and changing your laptops address?

No, I tried using the default IP of 192.168.110.10 and changing my laptop to 192.168.110.20, and I still could not connect. NVM manager reports "unable to connect " error.

Sometimes NAM's can be
192.168.110.10
192.168.110.11
192.168.110.12

These are 3 options in NVM but I have never seen one myself that use's 11 or 12.

You can also try to hook up via the com port instead and see if you get in as a test.
