CV9 - In a report, I have a single field called LTD and it can contain 3 different values: LTD1, LTD2 and LTD3. I need a count of how many LTD1's, how many LTD2's and how many LTD3's are in this field. I would appreciate any assistance. Thanks!

Do you mean you can have as many as 3 values stored in the field or just one of the 3 values in the field. If you can have up to 3 are they seperated by a comma?

Hi,
Further clarification please:

Can the Field LTD contain many values for each record?
( For instance can it be LTD=LTD1,LTD2,LTD1,LTD3,LTD2 in a single record)
Or is it that for each record in the datasource the LTD field may contain LTD1 or LTD2 or LTD3?

The field contains just 1 value, which can be either LTD1, LTD2 or LTD3. We have 3 diff LTD plans, but an employee can have only 1 type of LTD. For example:

LTD Type
Employee A LTD2
Employee B LTD3
Employee C LTD1

How many employees have type LTD1?
How many employees have type LTD2?
How many employees have type LTD3?

Create a formula for each plan. For example:
//LTD1Count
If Plan = "LTD1" then
1 else
0

Place the formula in the detail section and sum in the report footer (or any group footer).

One employee record, only one LTD (either 1, 2 or 3)

The answer I gave above should work. Create three formulas one for each plan type. Place formula in detail section and sum at any group level or report footer.
