Hi all,

Where can I find step by step instructions to install and configure this puppy in a new system? I've been going around in circles for two (2) whole days now. I wanna setup RAN & MOH.

I've got the cards installed (slot 0 & 1) and communicating (sort of).

It's now stuck at:

TLAN Port set to Auto-Negotiate Speed and Duplex Settings
ELAN set to 10BaseT Operation
ELAN set to Half Duplex Operation
Waiting For Carrier link to Return
0x1affe64 (tRootTask): Carrier still down after 10 Seconds
Getting IP over BOOTP via network interface ixpMac1
Enter +++ to escape to Shell for manual configuration
................................................................................

If I use the +++ escape sequence, I get:

0xf3c34c (tStart): Wait for M-1 Companding Law no timeout...
0xf3c34c (tStart): Card Lan message and no Companding Law..
0xf3c34c (tStart): Wait for M-1 Companding Law no timeout...
0xf3c34c (tStart): Card Lan message and no Companding Law..
0xf3c34c (tStart): Wait for M-1 Companding Law no timeout...
0xf3c34c (tStart): Card Lan message and no Companding Law..
0xf3c34c (tStart): Wait for M-1 Companding Law no timeout...
0xf3c34c (tStart): Card Lan message and no Companding Law..

I've got (2) MC-8s, (2) CP-PMs, and (1) MC32S, and can safely say that none of the above are configured, nor have I the slightest clue about how to do so.

This system sorta fell into my lap and I'm just trying to make the best of it.

So as I was saying... HELP!!

johnpoole, that would be great!! :)

Re: the EXUT, is this a virtual, or a physical card?

johnpoole,

In response to your first question re: "if you don't +++ does it boot up?"

If I don't enter +++, the card repeats the message:

0xf3c34c (tStart): Wait for M-1 Companding Law no timeout...
0xf3c34c (tStart): Card Lan message and no Companding Law..
0xf3c34c (tStart): Wait for M-1 Companding Law no timeout...
0xf3c34c (tStart): Card Lan message and no Companding Law..

several more times, and then it restarts.

As John Poole said, you need to build the route and at least one Music or Ran trunk on the card otherwise the card will stay in the 'comapanding law' state that it's in right now.
