Need instructions for black ink printing only-HP Deskjet 932C

I am having a problem with my HP Deskjet 932C printer as it will not accept the refilled color cartridge. I would like to use the printer and print with the black only which does work. How can one bypass the requirement that both cartridges be installed and working before you can print?
