We want to set up our OS so that it only accepts packages that are digitally signed by our team (so that people can't install garbage like Gator, Quake, or Lotus Notes).

For this purpose, I don't think I NEED to pay hundreds of dollars to Verisign or Thawte for a public certificate. I would think there is a way to generate an internal certificate that is useful nowhere except on our network.

But I can't find ANY information on this. Has anyone else tried this?

Thanks in advance. Leon Adato (adatole@yahoo.com)

Go to msdn, they will show you how to generate a D.Certificate using Visual Studio. Then you can add it to your safe list on IE.
