Need idea on external vs internal call differentiation

I have a receptionist on the SV9500 I have with a phone with 12 lines. She handles about 800-900 calls a day. I want to make her life easier by enabling her to see if the next ringing/blinking line is internal or external call.
I have distinctive ringing to differentiate between internal and external calls, but when she is already on the phone, and 2-3 other lines are blinking, then this function is unusable.
Sure, once she picks up the call, she can see on her display the caller's number, and answer accordingly, but I want to somehow show the origin of the call "at a glance" before the line is answered.
I could route all the "dial 0" calls to a set of lines on her phone, while routing all the DID calls to another set up lines on her phone, essentially creating 2 separate hunt-groups on her phone, which would work just fine, except for one problem. When she goes on breaks, or someone else takes over for the night, then all the calls have to be forwarded to another phone. Currently, since all calls are sent to her main line, and to her rollovers, when she leaves, she just forwards her phone to another. That other person may also leave and forwards her phone to another. So now we have double, and sometimes triple forwards. Managing call forwards becomes very complicated if I program internal vs external calls to different hunt groups.

So I'm seeking some other solution. For example, if I could make all internal calls blink green, and all external calls blink red, that would be it. Or just a different blink pattern. I have V6 of SV9500 and the phone in question is DT700 phone.

I'm open to ideas or suggestions.
 
I believe you can modify/change those LED colors in the IP phones only. If you have one, log into the phone and check out the options.
 
I think you can use the menu key on the DT 7XX/8XX phones to customize the ringer and illumination. Do that to the phones that need to answer calls. Don't let the users see what you are doing so they won't change it back.
