Hi,

My /var partition is at 100 %. My users have gone email crazy with my web based email. Therefore, I am adding a new disk, making it a new partition (18.2 gigs). I am renaming /var to something else, ie /oldvar (or whatever). Then I am renaming my new partition /var and moving all the contents to it.

Will this work?

Thanks,

Yes, if you relabel the /var partition (man e2label or tun2fs)
and label the new one /var- or just adjust /etc/fstab to point at the proper /dev - either way.
