look up tooltips. it sounds like thats what you need. pretty simple with css and jquery.

you want html and JAVA :O --> good luck.
I think you mean javascript (big difference between the two).
Look up JQUERY image sliders (there are many). Other than that you should be able to program one if you know html/css/jquery.
