Hello everyone, I'm new here and I just signed up because we just turned into a NOrtel shop. I am very frequent over at techexams.net, so I will probably be rather frequent member here as well.

Brand New 5510-24T out of the box will not boot. It gets hung here:

I tried a ctrl-C but nothing. Any thoughts? I'm a cisco guy so I haven't had much time on Nortel gear.

If pressing Control-C at the "diagnostics" prompt doesn't do anything, then my guess is you've got a bad switch. You should be able to load agent code and/or initialize the flash in the diags menu. If you don't get those options, then I'd call your vendor and have them open a RMA and get you a replacement.
