I'm receiving an error message while the wizard is running the installation. The error message is:

ErrCode=-3
ErrorDesc.=Required data not found or disk space not enough

==============================

my system's specs:
Compaq EVO N610c
Pentium 4 1.8GHZ
256 MB RAM
27.9 GB HDD
OS: Windows 2K Pro

I have more than 16 GB of free HDD space and can't figure why the error is being generated. I've downloaded the latest Installation wizard from Linksys and the same error pops up.

i'd appreciate any help...I need the laptop for work and am desperate!

Thanks in advance!

I found out what the problem was and have fixed it. In case there was someone here who spent the time to do some research regarding my problem, thanks anyway.

The problem was due to the Texas Instruments Cardbus controller. Apparently it's not totally compatible with the card. Linksys had a beta version of the driver available for download on their website and it fixed my problem. I was able to install the WLAN monitor and am now cruising with my WPC54G at 54Mbps.

Can you point me to the specific driver you used? I am having the same problem with several of my laptops.

Here's the ftp link:

ftp://ftp.linksys.com/beta/

the name of the zip file is wpc54g_beta_driver.zip

I hope it works for you.

Thanks to efcusa88! I was having exactly the same problem with a Dell Latitude D600 that I recently received to replace my Toshiba Tecra, and had searched in every conceivable forum, downloaded Linksys latest drivers, etc. and could NOT get WLAN monitor to install. I figured I'd try the beta, too, and what do you know? It installed perfectly, the card was recognized when I rebooted, and I now am back in business. Thanks very much for your research.

I'm glad it worked for you, man! I had a feeling that it wasn't just me that was experiencing this problem.
