I have to upgrade an old 16 bits application written in clipper5.3 and running on windows 98se machines. The application Work well and fast but from time to time when the 16 bits application is running pressing keys on the keyboard seem to call shortcut instead of characters.

Example : entering data in a client name field work well but sudendly the "R" character when press switch from the application to the desktop shell and call the "run windows". Even if you go back to the application, pressing the "R" key just redo the shortcut call.

The only way to correct the situation is to reboot the system and restart the 16 bits applications.

Anaybody have a idea how to correct this ??

Have you tried another keyboard? It sounds like the Windows key may be sticky.
