I don't know if i'm just stunned when it comes to linux but i'm having a heck of a time setting up a router. I'm running fedora core 3 with 2 different network cards (different brands). They are both active, I can ping the internal network ip of 192.168.1.1 from another box and can surf the web on the linux server.
i've set up both zones, eth0 for internet and eth1 for network. The network subnet is 192.168.1.0 and eth0 is feeding from my firewall and is on subnet 10.1.80.0.
I've tried setting up shorewall 3 using their online documentation with no success and then tried again with webmin.
Shorewall won't start.
In the system log, "zone net specified more than once".
I removed the net statement in etc/shorewall/zones and shorewall started.
Added the net statement back in, restarted shorewall and it came up.
I still can't surf thru the linux server...
Anybody know what I could be doing wrong? Is there a nice step by step module I can use?
Thanks.
