well, what i want to do is have multiple list boxes of information (i.e. account number, account title, year, and amount). By entering information in one or more of these fields i want to be a able to display the appropriate data.
I already have tables with the neccessary data. essentially, i just want to be able to display search results based on the list boxes.
I have seen various examples around but none that make much sense to me. I am sorta new to the access scene and a simplified answer would be appreciated. thanks.

If you open a new form in design view, & place an empty combo or listbox, assuming the wizards are set to on it should pop one at the point when you place the control. One of the options should be to 'Find a record on my form based on the value I selected in my list box'. This will then automatically create the relevant code to fetch the relevant data. I am not sure, but you might well be able to use this wizard to create multiple record selection listboxes...

I will clarify my problem. I need to make a database of academic scholarship recipients. What I want is to have a form that when you choose a "Year" from a list box and a "Scholarship Title" from another that it displays the recipients of that scholarship for that year. I already have a table with the scholarship information (title, account number) and a table of the academic years (1999-2000, 2000-2001, 2001-2002..etc.), a table with the students information (name, social security number, amount of award). I am using Access 97, if that matters.

Are you wanting to present the resulting data in a form or datasheet??? James Goodman

I want the information to be displayed on the form. I guess it would be a sub-form.
