Need help with SCSI

Im interested in connecting multiple HDDs. But know little about where to start.

Do certian motherboards only allow certin Hard disk space?

or can that be fixed by upgrading the BIOS?

What is exactly involved in setting up...say 4 Hard drives?

I currently have a 40gig and a 80gig..and plan on buying more. Would it be better if i was to buy a HD rack? or use SCSI?

It's always better (and easier) to use SCSI.
