I have a NICE PCI logger version 8.9 that has an internal RAID 5 Array (3 drives). The drive sizes are 73GB each, model Hitachi HUS10373FL3600 10K SCSI Ultra 68 pin PN 603B0099-52. Drive 0 of the Raid has crashed and needs to be replaced. According to NICE Systems, They have replaced the 73GB replacement part with a 146GB Replacement PN 603B0101-53. My question is has anyone replaced one of the 72GB drive with the new 146GB replacement in a current RAID 5 Array. Will the RAID 5 format the 146GB drive to only 72 GB and will it now see it as a 72GB drive ? The other question is will Nice Logger boot back up as normal seeing all three drives ?

hi if you insert a 146gb drive in a RAID 5 array with 2 other 2 73gb drives then only 73gb space will show on new drive.

Have you tried a rebuild on failed drive using megraid utility?
