Greetings,
This site is a GOLD MINE of information!

I am a new to the Meridian (former Avaya user) and I'm wondering if I can take an internal DN and redirect to an external 800#? Example: an internal user would dial 1611 and the switch would reroute the call to 800-xxx-xxxx.

The reason for doing this is to make it easier for our internal users to call our helpdesk by remember 4 digits instead of 10. I also want to have restricted phones be able to call the 800 from a 4 digit DN as well (we have some phones restricted to internal calls only).

If an internal DN can be used for the above, would it also be possible to revert DN's to the number from Meridian Mail? (such as through custom operator and "revert DN" field?)

Thank you for your help.

Setup an ACD Queue with the DN you want to use and NCFW it to 91800xxxxxxx.

Yes, There are multiple ways of doing this. I use Phantom TN's that I DCFW (FTR)to the number (turn on FNA and CFXA in CLS). You can also use an ACD with a NCFW (MAXP 1)to your number of choice. If you use the Phantom make sure to have the NCOS high enough for it to dial LD. If you need exact instructions let me know. As for your mail you can have it revert (as long as your Restriction/Permission List allows that number) to any number. I would use a 4 digit revert to a phantom and then dcfw out to your destination. I try to keep all of my forwards in one location. As in if I build them all as Phantoms then it is easy for me to do my maintenance. Also if there ever is a problem, I don't have to follow the call sequence from a-z. I know where the forward happens already. It is just a good habit to get into. Good Luck!

I DEFINATELY need instructions. The ACD way sounds good. I was hoping to get around any class of service issues with internal only/restricted phones using the number I set up. I don't even know what TN's on my switch (61C Release 22) that are set up as Phantom's...!? HA!

I'm still learning all of the acronyms! ;-)

Thanks!

Login goto LD 23,
req=NEW
type=acd
acdn= YOUR INTERNAL DN YOU WANT TO USE
maxp= 1
ncfw= 9(xxx)xxx-xxxx If LD then 9+1

Let me know if you have any questions.

By the way, if you go into LD 22 and print CEQU look at SUPL and if you have any loops that start with an N (IE: N100) then loop 100 is your phantom loop.

I created the ACD as suggested. There is a slight delay but it works great!

Thank you!
