need help with RAID and SCSI

hello:
I am setting up a Netfinity 5000 with an Adaptec 2100S RAID controller card. The RAID setup seems to be fine, however, I am trying to connect a tape backup device to the onboard SCSI port on the rear of the server, and I am not able to get netware to recognize the device. i am running netware 4.11. anyone have any insight as to how I can get netware to recognize both the RAID card and the SCSI port at the same time?
