Need help with Raid 1 setup 2

I have a PE1750 with 2 36GB drives. The very first thing I did was to boot the server to the Server Assistant CD and off through the wizard I went. I chose Raid 1 and then when it prompted me for disk size (or something like that) I entered 6GB. Then the wizard completed, asked for the Windows 2003 server cd and installed server. Everything appeared to be fine except when I went into My Computer or Windows Disk Management I have only a 6GB drive and 30GB unallocated I am in desperate need for someone to provide step by step instructions so that I may get this server up and running correctly. The reason I entered 6GB was that I was thinking of having a 6GB partition for the OS and the rest for data. The wizard never asked me again for disk partitions sizes or anything. What am I doing incorrectly, I am a newbie setting this up. Help! )

not aware of any vendor will allow you to resize after raid 1 is created, an very expensive tool call volume manager from powerquest (now symantec) can resize partition on win svr but a lot of them saying error might occur,
if you need two partitions for the os and data, just build the rain 1 with the full capacity and partition it during the installation of win svr

When you choose RAID 1 during your setup, the RAID utilty configured your two 36GB drives into a RAID1 set. This is good. Your RAID has been setup properly.

You then told the configuration utility that you wanted a 6GB OS partition. (This is a little bit small but is OK as long as you install your applications and any other additional software on the D:\ drive).

Now, when you went into Disk Management, you only see the 6GB OS volume and 30GB;s of free space. This is normal because the setup utility isn't intelligent enough to configure your other drive sizes.

All's you have to do now, is configure your other drives in Disk Management. Just right click the free space and follow the Wizard to create your other drives.

Having a seperate volume for your OS is always recommended. In fact, it would be better to have 2 18GB drives just for the OS (RAID1). and then two seperate drives for your data...but this is expensive. And yes, the price could be reduced by having RAID5 instead of using RAID1. But your configuration is better then most....having 2, RAID1 drives with more then one partition is great.
