Need help with "@ReplaceSubstring" function. 1

Hello,
I have a text field, filled in as follows:

Fannin, Gilmer, and Pickens Counties

I am trying to strip the "and" and "Counties"

Tried @ReplaceSubString(FieldName,"and","&quot to replace the and with nothing.

I do not get any errors, but nothing happens. This is the way the documention says it should be done.

in which event, have you tried to replace?

if it is in field's translation event, it will work.


@ReplaceSubString(FieldName;"and";"&quot and you have to refresh the document using [f9] or use some other method to refresh the document.

I tried to test this anywhere that allowed you to use a formula.(Querysave, Postsave, Queryclose, Postrecalc) I have had some luck changing variables. But nothing with the fields. I have not been able to find a (easy) Lotus Script solution to this. I have been able to update fields in the same places before using Lotus Scripts,(just appending, not replacing) so I am just wondering if it is something with the formula commands.

Any other suggestions.
