NEED HELP with PROJECTOR DETECTION!!!

Once again. Anyone know if it is possible to write code, or if there is an extra that will allow a projector, when it is launched, to determine if there is another projector running (not another instance of itself) and if so shut itself down? I really need to know if it is possible! Anyone???
