hi all,

Please, I need some help with configuring RRAS on Win2000 Server to act as a internet router. The config is as follows:

Win2k Server (SP3)- standalone (no AD)
ADSL modem w/ PPPoE
2 NICS: 1st IP 192.168.0.1, 2nd IP 192.168.1.1
ADSL modem is connected to the 2nd NIC

I have started RRAS and installed NAT;
under NAT, the interfaces are LAN (NIC1) and dsl (DoD - PPPoE)

I have set the default gateway on client comps to be 192.168.0.1

The problem is that other computers on the subnet (192.168.0.x) can't reach the internet. Anyone with some ideas? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

DNS? Can you resolve IP names on the server or on the clients?

I can surf normally on the server, but cannot from any of the clients. I have tried using the web sites' IP addresses, but it won't work either. Also, in DNS I have enabled forwarders and pointed it to my ISP's DNS.

Are you using ICS or RRAS for routing? Do the clients have static or dynamic IPs?

With ICS, the clients should be configured for DHCP, and let the server do the rest via DHCP (including DNS).
