Need Help with opening forms using command button

I am building a menu page in Access and am using command buttons to open the forms for some basic setup tables in my program. when I open the forms directly, they open in datasheet view(as I wish). But when I open them with the command button method from the menu page, they open in Single Form view (which I don't want). In the properties dialog of each form I have them set to open to datasheetview and have said no to other views. They still open to form view when using the command button. can you tell me how I can fix this? thanks
